How to port the Blindtest.com (French brand) / TriviaTunes gameplay onto the iOS?
Apple's phone turns into a buzzer for matches between 2, 3 or 4 players, with playlists that are updated weekly, as well as offering in-app purchases.
TriviaTunes for the iPhone is a version of the multiplayer musical quiz Blindtest.com, published by Chugulu in September 2008 for the French market. For the first time, music played in-game is not simply retrieved from the iPod library but actually streams from the Blindtest.com servers. This is unique in giving all players an equal footing to compete. The iPhone / iPod touch / iPad application has several play modes:- Buzz Mode, where speed is of essence and you must confirm which of the suggested answers is correct
- Expert Mode to enter answers without any prompts / help
- Multiple Choice Mode, where several answers are proposed, with the wrong ones disappearing as the seconds go by, for beginners playing alone
- Local and worldwide rankings to compare scores with friends on Openfeint. Results can also be posted on facebook and twitter
Over 500,000 downloads in France alone. This app has never left the "Top 50 most profitable games" since its launch.
